SynthMaker 1.0 (155)
A faster engine and two new Sound lab lessons.
New: the 808, from one sine wave (Sound lab 5, video). A pitch drop and a long fade make the boom. Move the Shaper before the envelope and it survives a phone's speaker, and you can hear that for yourself with Listen As.
New: the supersaw, locked to the bar (Sound lab 6, video). Seven saws in uneven steps, wide and free-running, then locked so the swirl repeats in time. It ends with a gated trance drop and pumping stabs.
Also new
- A new engine, Gen 2. It plays every voice side by side and runs a feedback loop one sample at a time, so a wire that loops back now plays instead of being refused. If something sounds wrong, Settings › Advanced brings back Gen 1.
- Listen As: hear your sound the way a phone's or a laptop's speakers play it.
- Steps: a pattern of levels on the song's grid that moves any knob, bar by bar.
- A Tape Delay, BBD Chorus modes and Variance. Delay and envelope times can be set in note values.
- The Oscillator can lock to the bar, and the filters can follow the note.
- Ned stays clear over the music: the lesson's song dips while he speaks.
- Removing a module the sound runs through joins its neighbours, so the sound keeps playing.
